THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MISTER SPEAKER (D Schwarz) was restless in the stalls and thereafter slow, losing two lengths. b) DANCE KING (S Moodley) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) TEXAS MISSILE (C Habib) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) In view of the performance of FLASHY APACHE (P Mxoli), (distance 4,95 lengths, betting 6/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with MISTER SPEAKER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) The saddle on ROYAL EDITION (M Yeni)) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by an Official. e) ONE MORE STAR (K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) ROYAL EDITION was ridden by Jockey M Yeni (declared 27 January 2026 at 08H46). b) ONE MORE STAR was ridden by Apprentice K J Lihaba (declared 27 January 2026 at 09H55). Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on ONE MORE STAR, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer A G Laird, thereby necessitating a change of Rider. Jockey C Murray signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. Race 4 contd. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) FLASHY APACHE blowing post-race. b) MISTER SPEAKER fatigued. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
