THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THAT'S MAGICAL (J Gates) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow, losing one length. Trainer M G Azzie was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). b) EXPRESS YOURSELF (D Schwarz) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) UNSOLVED RIDDLE (*J Botes) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the 300m, CARNELO (M Michel) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of AGOGE (C Zackey), which hung in badly from the 300m despite multiple efforts from Jockey C Zackey to correct this gelding. Trainer M N Houdalakis was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve AGOGE'S racing manners. c) Jockey C Habib reported that HEAVENLY GOOD made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) AGOGE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CARNELO was ridden by Jockey M Michel (declared 23 January 2026 at 10H19). b) MAJALUN was ridden by Apprentice B Marx-Jacobson (declared 28 January 2026 at 07H15).
