THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE, AS WELL AS STARTING STALL GATE 2 (GUERRA), 3 (THE OCTAGON) AND 4 (AFRICAN BEAT) OPENING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, starting stall gate 2 (GUERRA), 3 (THE OCTAGON), and 4 (AFRICAN BEAT) opened for no apparent reason. b) EMPIRE BLUE (N Takawira) was slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) During the loading process, starting stall gate 2 (GUERRA), 3 (THE OCTAGON), and 4 (AFRICAN BEAT) opened for no apparent reason, resulting in AFRICAN BEAT exiting the stalls. This mare was restrained by Jockey M Thackeray, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race, and reloaded. JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
