Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUGAR BEACH (+M Duba) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, FLAG BEARER (+P Mlangeni) and APACHE RUN (+A Feni) came together and brushed. Thereafter approaching the 1400m, VENGEANCE FOREVER (+J Gwingwizha) became unbalanced when bumped in by APACHE RUN which was carried in by GIMME A DREAM (+P Mongqawa) which shifted in when insufficiently clear. This incident resulted in SHIPS AT SEA (+C Mabaya) having to steady on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed on the inside of VENGEANCE FOREVER and on the heels of BLACKBURN JET (+T Ncume). Workrider P Mongqawa was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of GIMME A DREAM, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to a number of runners on his inside when he shifted in shortly after the start. Workrider Mongqawa signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in two Workrider races. Dates of Suspension: 10 May and 19 May 2022. b) Wokrider P Mongqawa reported that GIMME A DREAM did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) VENGEANCE FOREVER (+J Gwingwizha), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee S Mtwesi advised (AH). WORKRIDER CHANGES: a) FLAG BEARER was ridden by Workrider P Mlangeni (declared 26 April 2022 at 07H09). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) APACHE RUN Workrider A Feni weighed out at 57,4kg, 1kg over the carded weight. No action was taken against Workrider Feni as the sweat box in the Workriders room was out of order. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GIMME A DREAM examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHED: a) EQUERRY retired. Advised 21 April 2022 at 08H31. b) BIG GUY viral infection (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
