THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MERCANTOUR (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. b) GOLDEN LINK (MK Katjedi) and YAMADORI (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h42) b) Permission was granted for ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (L Mxothwa), GOLDEN PAVILION (M van Rensburg) and ROMAN AGENT (M Yeni) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) Shortly after the start MERCANTOUR (R Fourie) was squeezed out between ROMAN AGENT (M Yeni), which jumped outwards and IMAGINABLE (Y Ramzan), which jumped inwards. d) ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (L Mxothwa) was hanging out from the 300m and thereafter, Jockey L Mxothwa dropped his left-side rein shortly before the finish. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with YAMADORI. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer F Jacobs was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. f) GOLDEN LINK (MK Katjedi) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 120 days (2nd episode) from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers) g) ROMAN AGENT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
