THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	The tongue tie on THE EQUATOR (IRE) (R Piechulek) was replaced at the start.
b)	GLADATORIAN (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h13)
b)	At the 1000m COSMIC SPEED (G Lerena) took an awkward stride when tightened for galloping room between the inside running rail and GARRIX (K de Melo).
c)	THE EQUATOR (IRE) (R Piechulek) raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight.
d)	In view of the performance of EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. 
e)	Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.26 in that he behaved and conducted himself in a manner which may bring racing into disrepute by using foul language during the post-race interview. Jockey A Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R20000.00 of which R15000.00 is suspended for a period of one year.  In considering an appropriate penalty, the Stewards took into consideration the status of the race and the emotions of the occasion.
f)	SEE IT AGAIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (ZM)
