THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the starting stalls DREAM DECISION (*D Pillay) and PREDATOR'S SURPRISE (C Habib) came together and made contact. c) STAMPEDE AHEAD (S Moodley) over-raced in the early and middle stages. d) PREDATOR'S SURPRISE (C Habib) over-raced in the early and middle stages and thereafter compounded in the concluding stages. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) BALTIC ASSAYER (*D D Louw) over-raced in the early stages, proving difficult to settle and as a result, improved around the field to take up a forward position approaching the 1000m. f) In view of the performance of SKYLINE BELL (S Veale) (7.75 lengths, 28/10 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) Apprentice M Mbuto has ridden his 40th winner and will therefore claim a 1.5kg Apprentice allowance from the conclusion of tonight's race meeting. h) ECHO (*M Mbuto), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) SKYLINE BELL raced without ear muffs and without pacifiers (advised 05.02.2026/07h22).
