Stipes Report
THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HIGHWAYMAN HARRY (M van Rensburg) reared in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) HIGHWAYMAN HARRY (M van Rensburg) over-raced in the early stages. c) QUEVANO (R Fourie) was continually baulked from the 400m to the 200m. d) At approximately the 500m, FIRE STORM (G Lerena), which was directed inwards away from the heels of QUEVANO (R Fourie), to continue its run, and BALULE (C Murray) bumped on two occasions. e) Approaching the 300m, HIGHWAYMAN HARRY (M van Rensburg) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of BALULE (C Murray), which commenced to hang out and was immediately straightened. f) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with WOENSDAG KOERANT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) FIRE STORM (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) WOENSDAG KOERANT examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. b) HIGHWAYMAN HARRY choked up. c) HAMMER BLOW choked up.
