Stipes Report

THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO TIN PAN ALLEY (M K KATJEDI), ONE EYE ON VEGAS (S VEALE) AND KING HARALD (S KHUMALO) HAVING TO BE RESADDLED AT THE START. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	GRAND EMPIRE (C Zackey), ALL SYSTEMS GO (C Habib), ONE EYE ON VEGAS (S Veale) and GOLDEN WARRIOR (K Matsunyane) were slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b)	I'M A FIREBALL (C Murray) and SHADOWFAX (R Fourie) over-raced in the early stages.  
c)	Leaving the 200m, ONE EYE ON VEGAS (S Veale) switched out off the heels of YIPPEE KIYAY (J R Syster), which resulted in TRUST (S Moodley) being carried out and having to check and switch out off the heels of SPLITTHEEIGHTS (R Danielson). As a consequence, TRUST (S Moodley) suffered a loss of momentum during this incident.
A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board, which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey S Moodley on behalf of the fourth-placed horse, TRUST (S Moodley), against the third-placed horse, ONE EYE ON VEGAS (S Veale), on the grounds of interference and intimidation in the concluding stages.  The Objection Board, after reviewing the patrol film of the race and hearing all the evidence put forward by the connections, was of the opinion that TRUST (S Moodley) would have finished in front of ONE EYE ON VEGAS (S Veale), barring this incident and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges' result to read as follows:

d)	SPLITTHEEIGHTS (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

e)	GRAND EMPIRE (C Zackey), place second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (MS).
	
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	KING HARALD was ridden by Jockey S Khumalo.
Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 21.7 in that he accepted to ride both KING HARALD and RADIO STAR in the 6th Race at the Turffontein Racecourse on 7 February 2026.
Jockey G Lerena signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R2000 was imposed.
b)	TIN PAN ALLEY was ridden by Jockey M K Katjedi (declared 7 February 2026 at 13H21).		
c)	YIPPEE KIYAY was ridden by Jockey J R Syster	 (declared 7 February 2026 at 15H09).	

RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a)	SHADOWFAX raced with a tongue tie on (declared 6 February 2026 at 09H51).		

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a)	GRAND EMPIRE coughing post-race.	
b)	I'M A FIREBALL mouth injury.

d)	SHADOWFAX not striding out in front.
