THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ERROL FLYNN (M Michel), WINSTON'S WONDER (G Lerena) and DIOGENES (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) DIOGENES (C Maujean) over-raced in the early stages. c) Approaching the 200m, GLOBAL IMPACT (K Matsunyane), which shifted in away from the crop, and DIOGENES (C Maujean), which shifted out away from the crop, came together and brushed. Shortly thereafter, DIOGENES (C Maujean) was brushed out by TROMBOLINES (C Murray), which shifted out away from the crop. As a consequence of this, GLOBAL IMPACT (K Matsunyane) was eased off the heels of DIOGENES (C Maujean). d) Shortly before the finish line, KUDZU (C Zackey) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between EIFFEL TOWER (P Mxoli) and WINSTON'S WONDER (G Lerena), which shifted out and was corrected. e) ERROL FLYNN (M Michel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
