THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey D Schwarz felt something amiss with MISTER SPEAKER in running, and he did not persevere with his riding from the 1000m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) BAKWENA (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) BAKWENA: Jockey K de Melo weighed out at 55,1kg, 1kg over the carded weight. Jockey K de Melo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on BAKWENA, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer J J van Vuuren.
