THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NUCLEAR FORCE (M Michel) was slow, losing one length. b) ARLINGTON ACTION (P Mxoli), ROMEO'S MAGIC (R Danielson) and CARTAGENA (J R Syster) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 2200m, CHABAL (G Lerena) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of CULTURATI (M K Katjedi), which shifted in sharply. c) Shortly after the finish line, COPPER PLATE (C Murray) was bumped and had its hind quarter turned outwards by CULTURATI (M K Katjedi), which hung out and shifted out from the 400m. d) In view of the performance of ROMEO'S MAGIC (R Danielson), (distance 8,50 lengths, betting 10/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of CARTAGENA (J R Syster), (distance 10,75 lengths, betting 10/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey C Zackey reported that COPPER CLIFF did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) COPPER PLATE (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
