THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIMME THE POWER (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length. b) SPURIOUS (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h05) b) Shortly after the start, CRAZY LITTLE THING (*EJ Muller) and PITERAQ (L Mxothwa) brushed. c) Shortly after the start, WEDDING VOW (O Noach) was brushed in by THREE TULIPS (*N Yuen), which rolled in. d) SPURIOUS (R Fourie) over raced in the early stages. e) GIMME THE POWER (JP van der Merwe) was directed out at the 300m and into clear running. f) In the concluding stages, SPURIOUS (R Fourie) was held up for a number of strides when close to the heels of ALESSIA ASHEVILLE (*S Bungane), which shifted out and was immediately straightened. g) In view of the performance of STELLAR GUIDANCE (C Little), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. h) WINTER IN AUCKLAND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
