THE STARTER REPORTED: a) POWER OF PEARLS (S Moodley) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) HOT COCOA (C Habib) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. c) PALACE SCRIPT (R Munger) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 600m, PALACE SCRIPT (R Munger) was steadied momentarily when tightened for galloping room on the inside of KORTVANDRAAD (R Danielson), which rolled in. c) In view of the performance of LASTING LOOKS (*B Marx-Jacobson), (distance 19,00 lengths, betting 50/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of DUCHESS OF COGNAC (M van Rensburg), (distance 35,25 lengths, betting 50/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with HOT COCOA in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) KORTVANDRAAD (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J M Vermeulen advised (MduP).
