Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUGAR BABY LOVE (C Zackey) was nervous in the stalls. b) TERMINAL VELOCITY (R Fourie) and AM STILL WINNING (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h29) b) Due to a technical issue, there was a total loss of visuals and patrol film recording in the boardroom. As a consequence, the Starter was instructed to take all horses which had already been loaded out of the stalls until the issue was resolved. Further communication was then received, confirming that it would take approximately ten minutes to restore the technical system. The Handlers were instructed to loosen the girths of the horses at the start. c) At approximately the 250m MISSOURI FLAME (Y Ramzan) shifted inwards away from the crop. d) Jockey C Maujean was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline B) in that he mis-used his crop by striking AM STILL WINNING with his crop arm above shoulder height. Jockey C Maujean signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. e) SUGAR BABY LOVE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) MISSOURI FLAME raced without cheek pieces. (declared 06h38 on 20260211) b) C Zackey (SUGAR BABY LOVE) rode +0.5kg. (55.8kg's) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) TERMINAL VELOCITY - fatigued. b) AM STILL WINNING - coughing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
