THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE FITTINGS ON DANTONFROMSANDTON (K DE MELO) HAVING TO BE CHANGED IN THE SADDLING AREA BEFORE THIS GELDING COULD PROCEED TO THE START. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCE OF KILDARE (M K Katjedi) stumbled badly shortly after the start. b) Shortly after the start, CHAMPION WARRIOR (C Habib) and RICHARD THE FIRST (R Munger) came together and bumped. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 250m, ORANGE COUNTY (*J Botes) was switched out to continue its run. c) SUPER AWESOME (*B Marx-Jacobson) hung in in the concluding stages. d) Jockey C Habib reported that CHAMPION WARRIOR changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine e) SUNSET RIOT (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (SM). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SALUTE THE FLAG was ridden by Jockey J Penny (declared 14 February 2026 at 08H40). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SUPER AWESOME: Apprentice B Marx-Jacobson weighed out at 50,3kg, only claiming 2kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance as declared. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CHAMPION WARRIOR examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. b) PRINCE OF KILDARE overreach right front.
