Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MAKAJIMA (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls, stood awkwardly and was slow into stride.
b)	MAGIC GREENLIGHT (S Khathi) and PEEKABOO (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	BOMBER STREAM (*J Botes) jumped awkwardly outwards with its head up, losing two lengths.
d)	DOWN TOWN CODY (X Ndlovu) jumped outwards.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Permission was granted for RACHETTU (JP van der Merwe) and GOOD SHINE (C Little) to be assisted by a 	lead pony when proceeding to the start. 
b)	Shortly after the start PEEKABOO (L Mxothwa) was buffeted between MAGIC GREENLIGHT (S Khathi) and 	DOWN TOWN CODY (X Ndlovu), which jumped outwards. 
c)	RACHETTU (JP van der Merwe) over raced in the early and middle stages and proved difficult to settle.
d)	SUSURRANDO (W Agrella) and GOOD SHINE (C Little) over raced in the early and middle stages.
e)	MAKAJIMA (R Fourie) had to be switched out to obtain a clear run at approximately the 350m and thereafter, 	commenced to hang in from the 100m.
f)	MATT'S WARRIOR (M Yeni) was hanging in from the 300m and was corrected shortly before the finish line.
g)	PEEKABOO (L Mxothwa) shifted sharply outwards away from the crop at the 200m.
h)	Apprentice J Botes (BOMBER STREAM) appeared before the Board and was advised to ride his mounts to 	the finish line.
i)	Jockey MK Katjedi reported that he felt something amiss with FORT IMPREZA. The Veterinary Surgeon was 	requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer DA McKenzie was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return 	to the stables.
j)	In view of the performance of RACHETTU (JP van der Merwe) (Betting 18/10; Distance 11 lengths), the 	Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
k)	Trainer Z Oosthuizen was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate BUGLE against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer Oosthuizen signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00.
l)	SUSURRANDO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (LM)
