THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TEXAS LONGHORN (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) WARRIOR OF DESTINY (L Mxothwa) and PREMIER WINTER (C Habib) jumped slow, losing one length. c) FROM THE ISLAND (R Fourie) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h18) b) At the 150m STEALTH (*S Bungane), which raced green, shifted out sharply away from the crop and had to be straightened. c) Jockeys JP van der Merwe (TEXAS LONGHORN) and C Zackey (FREE ROAMING) reported that these colts made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) LADY JEAN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
