Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPEED SPICE (*V Jodhee) jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) RED WAVE (*N Yuen) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h21) b) Leaving the 200m, FORTUNE ONE (*S Bungane) and AURELIAN (*DD Louw) made heavy contact, with both horses becoming unbalanced when racing on the inside of TROIS SEPT HUIT (*EJ Muller), which was hanging in and shifted in without sufficient correction. During this incident, RED WAVE (*N Yuen) was brushed on the hindquarters by FORTUNE ONE (*S Bungane). Apprentice S Bungane, the Rider of FORTUNE ONE, accompanied by his Riding Master, called for a race review of this incident. After reviewing the patrol film and taking into account the distance of 0.75 lengths between the 1st and 2nd placed horses, they were of the opinion that an objection under the circumstances would not be successful and took no further action. Apprentice EJ Muller was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of TROIS SEPT HUIT, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FORTUNE ONE (*S Bungane) and AURELIAN (*DD Louw) leaving the 200m. Apprentice EJ Muller signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 28/02/2026 to 06/03/2026, both dates inclusive.) c) In view of the debut performance of SPEED SPICE (*V Jodhee), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) TROIS SEPT HUIT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Woodruff was advised. (SC) e) FORTUNE ONE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass was advised.
