THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ICY BLAST (K de Melo) was stubborn to load. b) LICENCE TO THRILL (T Godden) and QUERARI ROSE (M Thackeray) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) At the 200m FORTRESS OF FIRE (R A Venniker) shifted out away from the crop. Thereafter, approaching the 150m FORTRESS OF FIRE (R A Venniker) was directed inwards away from the heels of VIHAAN'S WEB (*D Pillay) to continue its run. c) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with ICY BLAST in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of CYMRIC (C Murray) (14.00 lengths, 20/1 in the betting), which was not persevered with in the concluding stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this gelding is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. e) VIHAAN'S WEB (*D Pillay), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
