Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DREAM SEARCHER (C Bantam) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls.
b)	DIAMOND BOMBER (JP van der Merwe) and UNA THE UNICORN (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h50)
b)	HER WORLD (K de Melo) proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
c)	At the 100m PENTOLINA (R Fourie) was steadied and directed outwards when close to the heels of 	DREAM SEARCHER (C Bantam), which shifted in without 	correction. A Stipendiary Steward, followed 	by Jockey R Fourie, called for a race review regarding this 	incident. However, after reviewing the patrol 	film, both were of the opinion that, in spite of this incident PENTOLINA (R Fourie) would not have 	finished ahead of DREAM SEARCHER (C Bantam) and took no further action.
	Jockey C Bantam was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.5 in that, when riding DREAM 	SEARCHER, he failed to take all reasonable precautions to prevent his mount from crossing 	PENTOLINA at the 100m. Jockey C Bantam signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding 	in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 05/03/2026 to 11/03/2026, both dates inclusive) 
	Jockey C Bantam (DREAM SEARCHER) was severely reprimanded and advised to ride his mounts to 	the finish to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. 
d)	Jockey C Orffer reported that GIN PALACE coughed post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested 	to examine this filly.
e)	In view of the performance of OCOTILLO (C Zackey), which raced wide without cover, proved difficult to 	settle and, as a consequence, raced around the field and into a prominent position from the 1000m, the 	Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f)	DREAM SEARCHER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised. (ZM)
