Stipes Report
THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE AS WELL AS THE 25-MINUTE INTERVAL BETWEEN RACES. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FLASHY APACHE (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) GIMMEACHOICE (M Michel), ARUMUGAM (L Nhlapo) and COUNCILLOR (J R Syster) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, COUNCILLOR (J R Syster) was bumped by FLASHY APACHE (R Munger), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) Apprentice J Botes, the rider of ROYAL ENGAGEMENT, accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m. d) COUNCILLOR (J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
