Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPLICETHEMAINBRACE (R Fourie) and ENCHANTING CHOICE (L Mxothwa) were nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h06) b) Permission was granted for EPIKLEROS (W Agrella) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) At approximately the 1300m AVERNIAN GODDESS (C Zackey) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of SPLICETHEMAINBRACE (R Fourie), which raced wide from the 1600m and shifted inwards. d) In view of the performance of KEY WORKER (M Yeni) (Betting 16/1; Distance 6.85 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) ENCHANTING CHOICE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
