THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TERMINAL VELOCITY (R Fourie) and AM STILL WINNING (*B Soodoo) jumped slow, losing one length. b) NIGHT IN JAPAN (C Maujean) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h11) b) Permission was granted for STRAIGHT RED (E Webber) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) After being dislodged in Race 4, Jockey R Fourie was examined by the Medical Officer and passed fit to continue riding. d) PLAYMAKER (X Ndlovu) over raced in the early and middle stages and thereafter, PLAYMAKER (X Ndlovu) was hanging out between the 400m and the 150m. e) SATELLITE (M Yeni) was hanging out from the 350m. f) Apprentice G Dookhit reported that GIMME THE BEST was fatigued. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) Jockey E Webber reported that he felt something amiss with STRAIGHT RED.
