Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	GRAND EMPIRE (C Zackey) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, making contact with the right-side gate.
b)	ONE EYE ON VEGAS (G Lerena) and ERROL FLYNN (K de Melo) were slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b)	At approximately the 200m, ALL SYSTEMS GO (C Habib), which had come to the end of its run, was brushed in by ONE EYE ON VEGAS (G Lerena), which rolled in. 
c)	In view of the performance of ERROL FLYNN (K de Melo), (distance 28,25 lengths, betting 17/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.	
d)	Jockey S Moodley was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of TRUST, misused his crop by striking this colt more than twelve times (14), which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. 
Jockey S Moodley signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R16,425 was imposed.
Jockey S Moodley was reminded that the new crop Rules and penalty framework will take effect from the 1st of April 2026.
e)	GRAND EMPIRE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

f)	TRUST (S Moodley), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
