THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OMNIA (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly with its head up. b) TRULY MAGICAL (M Yeni) jumped awkwardly. c) SPURIOUS (C Little) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h53) b) Permission was granted for SPURIOUS (C Little) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) The start of this race was delayed to allow for the re-positioning of the starting stalls on the track. d) TRULY MAGICAL (M Yeni), which raced prominently in the early part of the race, was not persevered with from the 400m and compounded badly in the straight. Thereafter, Jockey M Yeni reported that the saddle on this filly had slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon. e) OMNIA (C Zackey) hung out from the 400m and was corrected shortly before the finish line. f) LANA VIEW (S Khumalo) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. g) Jockey S Khathi (RED LHASA) appeared before the Board and was advised that although the use of his crop fell within the parameters of the current transition period, the revised use of the crop Rules and penalty framework will take effect on the 1st of April 2026. h) LANA VIEW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
