EN ROUTE TO THE START, WITHIN REACH (K DE MELO) PULLED ITS RIGHT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MOANA (C Habib) and WITHIN REACH (K de Melo) were slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) This Race was run in light rain. c) DOESYOURMOTHERKNOW (S Moodley) over-raced in the early stages. d) At approximately the 600m, FORRIES FAVOURITE (*T Mayhew) was carried out by WITHIN REACH (K de Melo), which was directed outwards off the heels of MOANA (C Habib) to obtain a clear run. e) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that CASH OUT changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine f) WITHIN REACH (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
