THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FULLY LOADED (*B Marx-Jacobson) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) GOT THE FEELING (M Michel) and RINGA RINGA ROSES (M van Rensburg) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 1200m, MAX THE MAGICIAN (S Khumalo), which commenced to over-race, was steadied and switched out to avoid running onto the heels of SECRET CHORD (M Yeni). c) At approximately the 250m, when racing in close proximity, Jockey M van Renburg (RINGA RINGA ROSES) accidentally struck MAX THE MAGICIAN (S Khumalo) on the muzzle with his crop. d) Jockey C Murray reported that BRISTOL HERCULES took an awkward stride at approximately the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) TINTIN (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee S Mtwesi, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GOT THE FEELING was ridden by Jockey M Michel, who weighed out 52,5kg. Jockey K de Melo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on GOT THE FEELING, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer F Bronkhorst, thereby necessitating a change of Rider. Jockey K de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1,000. b) TINTIN: Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 53,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
