THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ENDEARED (*I Taka) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. 
b)	ROCKIE BLUE (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.
c)	KENTUCKY LASSIE (W Agrella) fly-jumped leaving the stalls and was slow into stride. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h02)
b)	On leaving the parade ring, Jockey X Ndlovu expressed concern with the action of TORI'S GIRL. The filly was 	examined by the	Veterinary Surgeon examined and subsequently withdrawn. 
c)	LADY LUCK (C Little) and MEDITERRANEANFLAME (J Gates) came together and brushed shortly after the 	start. 	
d)	ROCKIE BLUE (R Fourie) was hanging out badly from the 400m and proved difficult to assist.
e)	Jockey G Wright did not persevere with his riding of DUMISANI from the 400m and thereafter reported that he 	felt something amiss with this mare. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
f)	Leaving the 200m, SUN SPECTACULAR (*B Soodoo) was carried outwards by LADY LUCK (C Little), which 	shifted out continuously from the 300m. 
g)	Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with KEENIA'S PRINCESS. The Veterinary Surgeon 	was requested to examine this filly.
h)	In view of the performance of KENTUCKY LASSIE (W Agrella) (Betting 6/1; Distance 6.55 lengths), the 	Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
i)	In view of the performance of ROCKIE BLUE (R Fourie) (Betting 3/1; Distance 6.00 lengths), the 	Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
j)	Trainer JP Nel was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered 	colours of the owner/s of LADY LUCK. Trainer JP Nel signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250.00.
k)	ROYAL MERMAID, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith 	was advised. (LM)
