THE STARTER REPORTED: a) INTO RED SPACE (M Yeni) was stubborn loading. b) HIGH RIDER (*G Dookhit) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. c) OLAF THE STOUT (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls, was taken out and reloaded. d) ROCKING IN RIO (R Munger) and POWEROFPEACE (*I Taka) jumped slow, losing one length. e) J LORDI (*B Soodoo) jumped inwards sharply. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h46) b) Shortly after the start, J LORDI (*B Soodoo), which jumped inwards, carried HIGH RIDER (*G Dookhit) sharply inwards. c) INTO RED SPACE (M Yeni) was hanging in from the 400m. d) CHIM CHIM CHEREE (C Zackey), which raced green, was hanging in from the 300m and took a number of awkward strides at the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) OLAF THE STOUT (R Fourie) raced green and took a number of awkward strides at the 100m. Thereafter, Jockey R Fourie reported that this colt made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables. f) J LORDI (*B Soodoo) was hanging in badly throughout and proved difficult to assist. g) INTO RED SPACE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
