THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CLARK GRISWOLD (J Solomons) was restless in the stalls, jumped inwards and made contact with KLIPTOWN (*S Bungane). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h37) b) Leaving the 1200m CLARK GRISWOLD (J Solomons), which proved difficult to settle in the early stages, clipped the heels of THOMAS JENKINS (C Orffer). c) In view of the performance of KLIPTOWN (*S Bungane), which took an awkward stride away from the inside running rail at the 800m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that STEADFAST took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) KING'S QUEST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass was advised.
