THE SHEPHERD (S Veale) proved stubborn to load. This led to a delay to the start of this race.  

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	THE SHEPHERD (S Veale) proved stubborn to load. Trainer M W Masawi will be advised to reschool this gelding. 
   
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) :
a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded.
b)	Leaving the 200m ROLLO THE VIKING (M Yeni) was carried in for a short distance by JOHNNY THE THIEF (M V'Rensburg) which commenced to hang in from the 350m and shifted in. 
c)	Jockey C Habib reported that CLEARTHERUNWAY took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	In view of the performance of THE SHEPHERD (S Veale) (12.85 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
e)	WINTER GAMES (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M D Miller was advised (SP).
