THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIVE ME A CHANCE (C Zackey) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) PEACEFUL DUCHESS (C F Dicken) stumbled shortly after the start. c) Approaching the 800m, PEACEFUL DUCHESS (C F Dicken) was steadied in anticipation of running onto the heels of JAWBREAKER (S Moodley) and DONMAGOO (*A Mosaheb) which shifted in marginally away from CAPTAIN T (M Yeni). d) At the 300m, CAPTAIN T (M Yeni) was inconvenienced when racing in restricted room between TICKALOX (N Patel) and HIGHER LOVE (*D Ramkhalawon) which rolled in. e) Apprentice D Ramkhalawon (HIGHER LOVE) appeared before the Board and was advised that although the use of his crop fell within the parameters of the current transition period, the revised use of the crop Rules and penalty framework will take effect on the 1st of April 2026. f) Jockey C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss with PEACEFUL DUCHESS in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) In view of the performance of STAR FALL (*B A Makhubo) (19.90 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. h) Apprentices B A Makhubo (STAR FALL), A Mosaheb (DONMAGOO) and D Ramkhalawon (HIGHER LOVE) rode satisfactory qualifying rides. i) HIGHER LOVE (*D Ramkhalawon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
