THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GUNBOAT (J Penny) and RIP WHEELER (C Ngcobo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) HIGHWAYMAN HARRY (M van Rensburg) hung out from the 200m. c) Jockey J Penny (GUNBOAT) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey J Penny reported that this gelding changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that HAMMER BLOW made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) GEOSTORM (K Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter was advised (MduP).
