Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BORN TO MASTER (O Noach) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h36) b) Shortly after the start, BOURBON KING (K de Melo) took an awkward stride and lost position when bumped by GOLD GOLD BABY (C Little), which was carried outwards by SPANISH VERSE (A Domeyer), which shifted outwards sharply leaving the stalls. c) BOURBON KING (K de Melo) was continually held up for a clear run in the straight until leaving the 200m. d) Leaving the 200m FROM THE GET GO (JP van der Merwe) was steadied for a number of strides when tightened for galloping room between BLIZZARDBOY (C Murray) and SPANISH VERSE (A Domeyer), which shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened. Jockey A Domeyer (SPANISH VERSE) appeared before the Board and was advised to straighten his mounts sooner than he had on this occasion. e) Leaving the 50m BLIZZARDBOY (C Murray) and SPANISH VERSE (A Domeyer) brushed when both horses shifted ground marginally. f) In view of the performance of QUIET PLACE (G Behr), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) Trainer P Muscutt was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of I AM SAM. Trainer E Steyn, acting on behalf of Trainer P Muscutt, signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer P Muscutt was given a warning. h) BLIZZARDBOY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Woodruff was advised. (ZM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) FREQUENT TRAVELLER raced without blinkers and with cheek pieces. (declared 06h00 on 20260327) b) FROM THE GET GO raced with blinkers. (declared 09h20 on 20260328) c) C Little (GOLD GOLD BABY) rode +0.5kg.
