THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on MAJOR APOLLO (*S Bungane) was re-fitted at the start. b) TRAILFINDER (O Noach) stood awkwardly in the stalls and jumped inwards. c) MOODY BLUE (C Zackey) and CELTIC CHIEF (*EJ Muller) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h17) b) Shortly after the start FOLLOW YOUR HEART (A Domeyer) was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of TRAILFINDER (O Noach), which jumped inwards. c) At the 250m STARTING POINT (G Wright) was steadied briefly and was directed inwards when unable to secure clear running between LYRICAL GANGSTER (JP van der Merwe) and MAJOR APOLLO (*S Bungane). d) Apprentice EJ Muller reported that CELTIC CHIEF was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the performance of TRAILFINDER (O Noach), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. f) FLYING FINLEY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
