Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MARKETA (JP van der Merwe) jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h49) b) ALL IS GREEN (C Zackey), which raced wide without cover on the turn and, as a consequence, proved difficult to settle, was allowed to race around runners from the 1000m and to the front of the field before entering the straight. c) At the 300m, a tiring ALL IS GREEN (C Zackey) had to be checked away from the heels of RIKKITIKKITAVI (M Yeni) when carried inwards by SEVEN NO TRUMP (C Murray), which was carried inwards by MY ONLY WEAKNESS (C Habib). The Stewards, after interviewing Jockeys C Zackey (ALL IS GREEN), C Habib (MY ONLY WEAKNESS) and C Murray (SEVEN NO TRUMP), have adjourned to review this incident. d) MY ONLY WEAKNESS (C Habib) shifted out away from the crop and made contact with JOU LEKKER DING (S Veale) at the 50m. e) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with UNA THE UNICORN. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) JOU LEKKER DING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised. (ZM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) UNA THE UNICORN - examined post-race. Blowing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
