THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAT'S FUTURE (D Schwarz) and LANCE ATTACK (M Yeni) were stubborn loading. b) BIG JOHN MAC (C Murray) stumbled leaving the stalls. c) BERRY LANCER (J Gates), LANCE ATTACK (M Yeni) and SHERLOCK HOLMES (K Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) CAPTAIN COOPER (G Lerena) and MFULATHELA (*K J Lihaba) were slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey J Gates reported that he felt something amiss with BERRY LANCER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) SHERLOCK HOLMES (K Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
