Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	The tongue tie on KING REGENT (C Little) was re-fitted at the start.
b)	After being loaded, the blindfold fitted to KING REGENT (C Little) became detached when this gelding threw its head up. Thereafter, KING REGENT (C Little) reared in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	CHURCHILLIAN (M Yeni) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h25)
b)	Approaching the 300m CHURCHILLIAN (M Yeni) was held up for a clear run behind THREE TIGERS 	(*S Bungane) and was directed outwards.
c)	Approaching the 100m, while attempting to improve into a narrow run, DANCE VARIETY (C Habib) 	shifted in away from NORTH POINT (JP van der Merwe) and made slight contact with DEMANDING 	DAVE (G van Niekerk) on two occasions.
d)	Leaving the 50m KAIBOY (C Orffer) rolled out, brushed the hindquarters of DEMANDING DAVE (G 	van Niekerk) and became unbalanced.
e)	KING REGENT (C Little) was held up for a clear run in the latter stages. 
f)	In view of the performance of PISTOL PETE (G Wright), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to 	examine this gelding.
g)	Jockey K de Melo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the 	carded weight on SARDINIA BAY, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the 	Trainer. Jockey K de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00.
h)	DANCE VARIETY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus 	was advised. (TJ)
