THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RONDEBOSCH (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, losing one length. b) BANFF (R Munger) was slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly before the finish line, RONDEBOSCH (C Zackey), which hung in from the 400m, was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of CAROLINE ISLAND (*B Marx-Jacobson), which shifted out away from the crop. In view of the performance of RONDEBOSCH (C Zackey), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) KAALVOET (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) KAALVOET was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 2 April 2026 at 07H13).
