THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TOUCHED BY ANGELS (C Zackey) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded b) Jockey R A Venniker appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding her ride on COWDRAY PARK. She explained that after a satisfactory start, COWDARY PARK had taken a hold of the bit and commenced to roll out, despite her attempts in seeking cover behind other runners. She indicated that her difficulty in seeking cover had resulted in her rolling out even further and racing wide without cover around the turn and into the straight. She further added that she would recommend to Trainer M L Roberts that perhaps a change of bit may improve this gelding's racing manners. c) LUCKY DOLLAR (T Godden) commenced to over race in the middle stages of the race. d) In view of the performance of LUCKY DOLLAR (T Godden) (15.85 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), KITCHAKAL (S Veale) (9.95 lengths, 5/1 in the betting), and LOCK AND KEY (C Little) (13.95 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) TOUCHED BY ANGELS (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
