Stipes Report
THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO A FALSE START BEING CALLED. THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly before the start was effected, ROCK MY BOAT (M van Rensburg), in stall gate 4, pre-empted the start and nudged the front gates open, which resulted in a false start being called by the Starter. All horses were restrained by their respective Riders, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. c) Jockey C Murray (MASTEROFTHEBAROQUE) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey C Murray reported that this gelding took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) TRACKSUIT DAVE (K Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MASTEROFTHEBAROQUE poor recovery; mucus in trachea on scope. b) ROCK MY BOAT blowing post-race.
