EN ROUTE TO THE START, APPRENTICE G SAMO-BURTHIA WAS DISLODGED FROM LADY WILLIAM. APPRENTICE G SAMO-BURTHIA WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE PARAMEDICS AND TRANSFERRED TO THE MEDICAL CENTRE FOR FURTHER OBSERVATION. LADY WILLIAM BOLTED THE COURSE AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THE RACE. A FURTHER DELAY WAS CAUSED AS THE AMBULANCE HAD TO TRANSPORT APPRENTICE G SAMO-BURTHIA TO THE COURSE MEDICAL CENTRE AND THEN RETURN TO THE START. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SECRET LIFE (P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) HAWKER TEMPEST (D De Gouveia) was slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, DRACHENFUTTER (C Maujean) and RUBY WHISPER (M Yeni) were bumped in by SECRET LIFE (P Mxoli), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) Leaving the 400m, RUBY WHISPER (M Yeni) was carried in by SECRET LIFE (P Mxoli), which hung in from the 400m and was corrected. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, RUBY WHISPER (M Yeni) and SECRET LIFE (P Mxoli) rolled out. d) Apprentice B Marx-Jacobson reported that he felt something amiss with ERIK'S GIRL in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) DRACHENFUTTER (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) DRACHENFUTTER raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 11 April 2026 at 07H46). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ERIK'S GIRL not striding out behind. b) HAWKER TEMPEST scalp wound left hind.
