THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FUTURE FREE (A Fortune), MAN OF CONSEQUENCE (C Little) and SET TO MUSIC (K de Melo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h20) b) On arriving at the start, the Starter tested the starting stalls, as per normal procedure, on two occasions and reported to the Stewards that he was satisfied that they were in good working order. c) At the 300m FUTURE FREE (A Fortune) was directed outwards and into clear running. d) Jockey A Fortune's (FUTURE FREE) use of the crop during this race will be referred to the designated Crop Panel for consideration. Jockey A Fortune has been advised. (NS) e) Jockey K de Melo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on SET TO MUSIC, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Jockey K de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00. f) FUTURE FREE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer G Terzi, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (ZM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) K de Melo (SET TO MUSIC) rode +1kg. (56.1kgs) The Stewards, in consultation with Trainer MH Maingard, allowed this overweight in terms of Rule 59.9. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil.
