Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIMMEAGAMBLE (*M Mbuto) jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) AFRICAN WILD DOG (*V Jodhee) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h44) b) After being slow to begin GIMMEAGAMBLE (*M Mbuto), which raced green, hesitated and then took an awkward stride shortly after the start. Thereafter, GIMMEAGAMBLE (*M Mbuto) raced detached from the field throughout. In view of this debut performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) At the 100m SICILY (*B Plaatjies) was carried inwards and made contact with RACHETTU (*EJ Muller) when HEDRIVESMECRAZY (*S Bungane), which showed a tendency to hang in, shifted in sharply when Apprentice S Bungane dropped his right-side rein, which he regained shortly thereafter. d) HEDRIVESMECRAZY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Nothing obvious detected. b) MRS SHACKLETON - abnormal respiratory noise & lame left front. A veterinary certificate is required prior to acceptance. Rule 49.7 applied.
