Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GRAVITY (*DD Louw) turned its head to the side as the start was effected and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h58) b) For a short distance at the 200m, WINTER PEARL (*V Jodhee) raced in restricted galloping room between FORT RED (*D Ramkhalawon) and AVIGNON (*S Bungane), which shifted out slightly. c) Apprentice D Pillay reported that BONNE BOUCHE tired quickly in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) Apprentice DD Louw reported that GRAVITY took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) When questioned regarding the improved performance of AVIGNON (*S Bungane) compared to this gelding's last race on 25 March 2026 at Hollywoodbets Durbanville Racecourse, Trainer PAW Botha told the stewards that in this gelding's previous run over 1400m, he had been unable to overcome his draw and, as a consequence, raced wide on the turn, as reported in the Stipendiary Stewards' report. He further told the Stewards that, in his opinion, this gelding is at his best when racing over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse. His explanation was noted. f) AVIGNON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised. (SC) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) Nil.
