THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) En route to the start, CRONUS (*T Mayhew) lifted its left front shoe, which was attended to by the course farrier. c) TURBO TIGER (P Mxoli) over-raced in the early and middle stages and, as a consequence, raced wide around the turn and into the straight, thereafter TURBO TIGER (P Mxoli) tired badly from the 200m. d) KOHLI MAGIC (C Habib) commenced to give ground to the field from the 600m. e) Jockey M Yeni (SENDAI) did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with SENDAI in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that NEBRASKA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) BEST CANDIDATE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) BEST CANDIDATE was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (declared 19 April 2026 at 13H38). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SENDAI stirrup rub on the left side; post-race distress. b) NEBRASKA abnormal respiratory noise; not striding out right front.
