Stipes Report
APOSTROPHE (K DE MELO) WAS RESTLESS IN THE STALLS. THIS FILLY WAS REMOVED FROM THE STALLS, EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON, PASSED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPECIAL STAR (C Zackey) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) KISS OF FIRE (*M Mbuto) and PEPPER TREE (*K J Lihaba) were slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) PEPPER TREE (*K J Lihaba) over-raced in the early stages, which resulted in the saddle on this filly slipping forward significantly. This placed Apprentice K J Lihaba at a severe disadvantage and resulted in him not being able to fully assist this filly out to the end of the Race. c) In view of the performance of SAND SCRIPT (M K Katjedi ), (distance 10,05 lengths, betting 7/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) FUTURE GAMBLE (M Michel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Woodruff, acting on behalf of Trainer J Crawford, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) ARIEL'S JET was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 19 April 2026 at 08H36). b) SAND SCRIPT was ridden by Jockey M K Katjedi (declared 19 April 2026 at 13H58).
