THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LEBOMBO GOLD (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length. b) WELSH STARLET (K Strydom), SUGAR BABY LOVE (C Zackey) and CHRONICLESOFNANIA (W Agrella) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h09) b) Shortly after the start, LEBOMBO GOLD (G Wright) was directed outwards and into clear running. c) PRESERVE FOREVER (M Yeni) made contact with the left-side hindquarter of SUGAR BABY LOVE when allowed to shift inwards at approximately the 1600m, which resulted in Jockey C Zackey becoming momentarily unbalanced. d) LANA VIEW (MK Katjedi) was hanging out from the 250m. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that SUGAR BABY LOVE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with TERMINAL VELOCITY on her return to the stables. g) PRESERVE FOREVER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) PRESERVE FOREVER raced with blinkers. (declared 11h02 on 20260420) b) W Agrella (CHRONICLESOFNANIA) rode +0.5kg.
