THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RADU lost 2 lengths. b) SHESHA NTOMBI and LA MADDALENA were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Approaching the 100m, SHESHA NTOMBI was directed to the outside of runners to continue its run. c) Apprentice D Pillay reported that CHEF'S KISS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of SACRED LILY (14.95 lengths, 50/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of LA MADDALENA, he misused his crop by striking this filly more than ten times (11) in the entire race. Jockey C Murray signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1800. f) TAYLOR'S VERSION (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting for Trainer C Bass was advised (MM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Apprentice D Pillay (CHEF'S KISS) weighed out 52.6kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
